Despite a lackluster 2020 season for Texas State football and finishing 2-10 overall and 2-6 in conference play, eight Bobcats were given All-Sun Belt Conference honors.
Senior wide receiver/return specialist Jeremiah Haydel and junior cornerback Jarron Morris were both All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team selections.
Haydel received two honors, both as a return specialist and all-purpose special teams. In the Sun Belt, Haydel had the third most kick return yards (479) and was first in both punt return yards (208) and punt return touchdowns (1).
On Nov. 30, Haydel announced he is declaring for the NFL Draft.
Morris’s four interceptions this season were tied for the third-most in the Sun Belt and tied for the fifth-most in the country. His 69 total tackles and 51 solo tackles rank first in the nation amongst cornerbacks.
Junior wide receiver Marcell Barbee and junior defensive lineman Nico Ezidore were both All-Sun Belt Conference Third Team selections.
Barbee finished the season tied for the tenth-most receptions in the Sun Belt (40) and tied for the second-most receiving touchdowns in the conference (10).
Ezidore led the Bobcats in sacks (3.5) and had the seventh-most total tackles for loss in the Sun Belt (13). His 66 total tackles ranked first in the nation by a defensive lineman.
Sophomore running back Brock Sturges, sophomore punter Seamus O’Kelly, junior offensive linemen Russell Baker and redshirt freshman Dalton Cooper were selected as All-Sun Belt Conference Honorable Mentions.
