Hays County offices will remain closed for the rest of the week due to inclement weather, and COVID-19 vaccinations scheduled for this week will be moved to next week.
In a statement from the county, Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra says too many county employees remain with no electricity and frozen pipes along with limited access to food and gas.
“We also have many road closures, making it impossible for people to move freely,” Becerra says in the statement. “I just can’t ask them to come in.”
The University Star will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
