The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Feb. 2, a Buda man in his 60s. There have been a total of 193 fatalities in the county.

The county also reported 53 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 706 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 15,166, total active cases to 1,916 and recoveries to 13,057. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 3,125.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 515, 709 and 340 active cases, respectively.

The total number of received negative tests in the county is now 108,601. The total number of hospitalizations is 686 and total current hospitalizations is 40 after eight people were hospitalized and three were discharged.
