After qualifying in the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the Texas State men and women’s cross country teams ran in the NCAA South Central Regional meet Nov. 10 placing fifth and 13^th.
In the Sun Belt Conference Championship, the women’s team earned the champions title while the men’s team placed third.
This year, the NCAA South Central Regional meet was held in College Station, Texas, Friday and began at 9:15 a.m.
The men’s team had a total time of 2:36:20.80 and averaged a 31:16.16. The Bobcats fell short just behind McNeese State who had a time of 2:35:35.00 and average time of 31:07.00. The University of Arkansas took the first-place finish with a total time of 2:31:55.40. Texas State also received 179 points
Individually, junior Joseph Meade finished in 18th place in the men’s 10k. Meade finished with a time of 30:34.1 with 17 points.
Behind Meade was senior Logan Pittdman who finished in 30th place with a time of 31:12.2. Pittdman received 29 points.
The women’s team finished in 13th place a total time of 1:49:23.30. The Bobcats averaged a time of 21:52.66 and had a total of 379.
The Bobcats finished behind of McNeese State who had a total time of 1:48:08.10 and averaged 21:37.62 with 336 points.
Finishing first in the women’s 6k for the Bobcats was junior Devina Schneider—finishing in 41st place. Schneider finished with a total time of 21:12.6 with 41 points.
The NCAA South Central Regional meet concludes both of the cross country team’s season.
Overall, the Bobcats competed in five total meets. Both teams finished in the top 15 at all meets. After this season, the women’s team will be losing one senior while the men’s team will be losing five seniors.
