Texas State Women’s tennis team suffers a second loss on the season Friday, Jan. 26 after dropping all six matches to the Texas A&M Aggies at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
The Bobcats finished their first match with senior Alex Jones dropping to Dorethe Faa-Hividing 6-0, 6-1, and junior Ana Perez fell 6-1, 6-0 to Domenica Gonzalez.
Junior Julia Navajo-Melendez suffered a 6-1, 6-1 loss on court No. 2 and Junior Joy Chia Ming Ming battled tough but took a 6-1, 6-3 loss to Riley McQuaid on court No. 5. Freshman Rishona Israel-Lewis also suffered a tough 6-3, 6-0 loss on court No.3.
The Bobcats best match came from freshman Sophia Murcia-Rodriguez on court No.6 with falling 6-3, 6-3 against the Aggies’ Julia Ivascu. The Bobcats start the season off 0-2 as the Aggies improve to 3-0.
Texas State will return to action at Tarleton State Saturday, Feb. 3, and to No.24 TCU Sunday, Feb. 4.
