City Council approved the appointments of two San Marcos Municipal Court judges Oct. 16, as well as an application for Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.
The council approved Dallari Landry to serve as the presiding judge and John Burke to serve as an associate judge over the San Marcos Municipal Court of Record. Both judges will serve two terms.
The council also approved an application for Low-Income Housing Tax Credits to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the proposed Villas Del San Xavier Senior Community development. Richard Shaw, the land developer, said the community will have bus transportation, an indoor swimming pool and single floors.
The council denied a proposed amendment to allow developers in San Marcos to submit an unlimited amount of Preferred Scenario Amendments. Currently, developers can submit only two a year.
The council approved a construction contract to Smith Contracting Company for the Mill Street Improvements Project. The contract is estimated to cost $2,419,619.
