Early voting for the San Marcos runoff elections will take place Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 in the city and on campus.
Early voting will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 4. On Election Day Dec. 8, all polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The following polling locations will be open:
- Texas State Performing Arts Center, 405 Moon St.
- Hays County Government Center, 712 South Stagecoach Trail (west conference rooms)
- Broadway (formerly WIC), 401 Broadway #C
- Centro Cultural Hispano, 211 Lee St.
- Dunbar Center, 801 Martin Luther King Dr.
- First Baptist Church San Marcos, 325 West McCarty Ln.
- Hays County Transportation Yarrington Location, 2171 Yarrington Rd.
- San Marcos Housing Authority/CM Allen Homes, 820 Sturgeon Dr.
- Sinai Pentecostal Church, 208 Laredo St.
The two races to appear on ballots are the San Marcos mayoral race and a special election to fill a vacancy in the City Council Place 5 seat. Sample ballots can be viewed on the Hays County runoff elections webpage.
The two candidates in the mayoral race include incumbent Jane Hughson and Juan Miguel Arredondo, and the candidates for City Council Place 5 include Omar Baca and Mark Gleason.
A runoff election is called when no candidate received over 50% of the vote in their race. Election Day results and additional information can be viewed on the Hays County elections website.
