On May 7, City council unanimously voted on supporting a concurrent resolution of the Texas Legislature designating the City as “The Mermaid Capital of Texas.”
The resolution is currently in the process of making its way to the Texas State Legislature.
Council also passed an ordinance on the first of two readings adopting the 2019 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan, which aims to improve conditions throughout San Marcos parks such as hiking trails, waste disposal and safety for park goers.
