The Hays County Local Health Department reports 29 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 30 recoveries Oct. 19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 29,319, total active cases to 581 and recoveries to 28,352. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 955.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 112, 205 and 142 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 267,630. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,330 and total current hospitalizations is 18 after two people were hospitalized and two were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 386.
The county reports 14 unvaccinated people and four fully vaccinated persons are hospitalized. 10 unvaccinated patients and two fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
