The Hays County Local Health Department reports 26 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 122 recoveries Oct. 14, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 29,186, total active cases to 661 and recoveries to 28,141. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,162.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 136, 219 and 150 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 264,589. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,324 and total current hospitalizations is 19 after zero people were hospitalized and five were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 384.
The county reports 19 unvaccinated people and one fully vaccinated person are hospitalized. 15 unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
