The San Marcos Police Department is searching for an aggravated robbery suspect following an incident at a Sunoco Gas Station in San Marcos.
A press release from the City of San Marcos states the suspect arrived at the gas station around 12:29 a.m., located at 1200 Hwy 80, “wielding what appeared to be a stainless-steel lug wrench.” Police claim the offender jumped over the counter, ordered the counter clerk to open the cash register and proceeded to take cash.
The suspect left the store without striking any employees, police say, and fled on foot southbound on River Road (toward Bugg Lane).
Police say the suspect is a Black male around 5-foot-7-inches tall, based on video surveillance. He was wearing “a black hoodie, gray beanie, blue colored COVID style medical face mask, gray pants and black shoes with white laces and white soles,” the press release adds.
