The Hays County Health Department reports 47 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 121 recoveries Oct. 9-13, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,084, active cases to 889 and recoveries to 5,140. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 306.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 137, 507 and 154 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 30,730. The total number of hospitalizations is 354 and total current hospitalizations is eight after four new individuals were hospitalized and seven were discharged. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
Hays County does not release COVID-19 updates on weekends or holidays. The information presented in this article consists of the county’s reports from Oct. 9-13.
