The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality between Dec. 14-20, a San Marcos woman in her 70s. There have been a total of 411 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 295 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 185 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 31,016, total active cases to 474 and recoveries to 30,131. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 670.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 128, 162 and 112 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 296,456. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,394 and total current hospitalizations is 12 after seven people were hospitalized and 10 people was discharged.
The county reports 11 unvaccinated people and one fully vaccinated person are hospitalized. Seven unvaccinated and one fully vaccinated patient is in the ICU.
