The Hays County Local Health Department reports 78 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 195 recoveries Sept. 10, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 26,669, total active cases to 1,860 and recoveries to 24,476. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,971.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 597, 544 and 353 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 235,425. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,215 and total current hospitalizations is 60 after two people were hospitalized and two were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 333.
The county reports 52 unvaccinated people and eight vaccinated people are hospitalized. 31 unvaccinated patients and two fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
