The Hays County Local Health Department reports seven new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 152 recoveries Sept. 9, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 28,442, total active cases to 1,129 and recoveries to 26,947. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,146
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 315, 375 and 175 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 253,736. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,294 and total current hospitalizations is 38 after two people were hospitalized and four were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 366.
The county reports 31 unvaccinated people and seven fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 28 unvaccinated patients and two fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
