The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Sept. 20, a San Marcos man in his 70s and a San Marcos man in his 80s. There have been a total of 349 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 246 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 25,512 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 27,819, total active cases to 1,958 and recoveries to 25,512. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,760.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 621, 630 and 330 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 246,111. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,265 and total current hospitalizations is 49 after 11 people were hospitalized and 17 were discharged.
The county reports 43 unvaccinated people and six fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 29 unvaccinated patients and four fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
