The Hays County Local Health Department reports seven new COVID-19-related fatalities Sept. 13, an Austin woman in her 60s, a Buda man in his 80s, a Buda woman in her 80s, a Kyle man in his 30s, a San Marcos woman in her 70s, a San Marcos man in his 50s, and a San Marcos man in his 80. There have been a total of 340 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 273 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 267 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 26,942, total active cases to 1,859 and recoveries to 24,743. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,896.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 582, 574 and 348 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 237,247. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,239 and total current hospitalizations is 61 after 24 people were hospitalized and 23 were discharged.
The county reports 59 unvaccinated people and two fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 31 unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
