The Hays County Local Health Department reports six new COVID-19-related fatalities Sep.27, a Buda woman in her 40s, a Dripping Springs man in his 40s, a Kyle man in his 80s, a San Marcos man in his 60s, a San
Marcos man in his 80s, and a Wimberley woman in her 80s. There have been a total of 364 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 190 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 26,526 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 28,365, total active cases to 1,475 and recoveries to 26,526. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,608.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 442, 476 and 232 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 252,863. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,291 and total current hospitalizations is 43 after 13 people were hospitalized and 13 were discharged.
The county reports 38 unvaccinated people and five fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 31 unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
