The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Sept. 24, a Buda woman in her 50s. There have been a total of 358 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 112 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 77 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 28,175, total active cases to 1,558 and recoveries to 26,259. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,418.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 466, 510 and 250 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 250,490. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,278 and total current hospitalizations is 43 after four people were hospitalized and five were discharged.
The county reports 38 unvaccinated people and five fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 29 unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
