The Hays County Local Health Department reports four new COVID-19-related fatalities Oct. 25, a San Marcos man in his 50s, a San Marcos man in his 80s, and two women from San Marcos in their 60s. There have been a total of 393 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 105 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 21 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 29,513, total active cases to 569 and recoveries to 28,551. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 817.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 112, 205 and 156 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 271,094. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,336 and total current hospitalizations is 13 after three people were hospitalized and five were discharged.
The county reports 11 unvaccinated and two fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. Seven unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
