The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Oct. 13, a San Marcos woman in her 60s and a San Marcos woman in her 50s. There have been a total of 384 fatalities in the county.

The county also reported 23 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and five recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 29,160, total active cases to 757 and recoveries to 28,019. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,207.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 150, 251 and 164 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 264,105. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,324 and total current hospitalizations is 24 after one person was hospitalized and three were discharged.
The county reports 23 unvaccinated people and one fully vaccinated person are hospitalized. 15 unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
