The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities between Nov. 1-8. There have been a total of 401 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 184 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 219 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 29,864, total active cases to 380 and recoveries to 29,083. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 380.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 91, 121 and 102 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 278,263. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,348 and total current hospitalizations is 12 after seven people were hospitalized and four were discharged.
The county reports nine unvaccinated people and three fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. Two unvaccinated patients and two fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
