The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Nov. 20, a Kyle man in his 90s. There have been 96 fatalities in the county.
The county also reports 71 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 47 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,960, total active cases to 671 and recoveries to 6,193. The county reports the total active cases in the last 21 days is 865.
Hays County removed 10 cases from the total case count as part of the local health department’s continuous audit of COVID-19 data. Cases with addresses outside Hays County, invalid test results and duplications of previously counted cases are cases that the department will seek to remove each Friday.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 89, 292 and 172 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 45,783. The total number of hospitalizations is 418 and total current hospitalizations is 12 after four patients were admitted and three were discharged.
