San Marcos murder suspect arrested in North Texas

A San Marcos resident was arrested Sept. 27 on charges for murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection to an October 2017 murder.
Jesus Miguel Villarreal Jr., 28, was arrested by the U.S. North Texas Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at a Super 8 motel in Stephenville. Villarreal is a suspect in the murder of his roommate, Robert Castaneda, who was found dead by a gunshot wound in October 2017.
The San Marcos Police Department requested assistance Sept. 18 from the U.S Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Villarreal.
Villarreal is currently booked in Erath County Jail awaiting extradition back to Hays County.
