The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality since Dec. 18, a San Marcos woman in her 80s. There have been a total of 120 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 251 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 81 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 9,010, total active cases to 1,431 and recoveries to 7,459. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,008.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 399, 502 and 276 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 65,841. The total number of hospitalizations is 491 and total current hospitalizations is 25 after 12 people were hospitalized and six were discharged.
