Hays County reports one new COVID-19 fatality, 91 cases

The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19 fatality, a San Marcos woman in her 80s, and 91 new lab-confirmed cases Dec. 9.

There are 54 new recoveries. The new fatality, cases and recoveries bring the total number of cases in the county to 7,946, total active cases to 879 and recoveries to 6,960. The county reports 1,188 total active cases in the past 21 days.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 100, 330 and 222 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 57,048. The total number of hospitalizations is 452 after two new hospitalizations and discharges, respectively, and total current hospitalizations is 12. The total number of fatalities in the county is 107.
