Texas State men’s golf is traveling to Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate Oct. 11-13. The maroon and gold will look to make a good first impression in their first appearance in the tournament.
Hosting are the Arkansas State Red Wolves who have finished first place in the tournament four times in a row, now looking for their fifth.
The Bobcats look to bring their same energy after they placed third out of 12 schools at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate Sept. 13-15.
“We have worked hard on some weak areas and continued to work on our strengths as well,” Head Coach Shane Howell said. “The guys have been playing fantastic golf and are eager to get back to competition.”
After struggling in the 100-150 yards area, Texas State is looking to make the necessary improvements.
At the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, junior hitter Fabian Sunden shot well and finished two under par. Following Sunden on the leaderboard, redshirt senior hitter Logan Lockwood shot one under par. Both players are looking to have a much better three rounds.
Following this week, Texas State will head to Little Rock, Arkansas, Oct. 19-20, to compete in the Little Rock Invitational.
