The Hays County Health Department reports 22 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 77 recoveries Oct. 22, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,268, active cases to 554 and recoveries to 5,650. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 328.
San Marcos, Dripping Springs, Kyle and Buda have 31, 34, 358 and 101 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 33,274. The total number of hospitalizations is 363 and total current hospitalizations is 9 after one patient was discharged. There have been 64 fatalities in the county.
