The Hays County Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Oct. 15, a San Marcos man in his 70s and an Austin woman in her 90s. The total number of fatalities in the county is 59.
The county also reports 24 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 71 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,134, total active cases to 781 and recoveries to 5,294. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 316.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 81, 471 and 142 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 31,279. The total number of hospitalizations is 355 and total current hospitalizations is six after two individuals were discharged.
