The Hays County Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Nov. 2, a Kyle woman in her 70s. There have been 88 fatalities in the county.
The county also reports 44 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 63 recoveries since Oct. 31, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,176, total active cases to 304 and recoveries to 5,784. The county reports the total active cases in the last 21 days is 418.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 60, 116 and 81 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 36,170. The total number of hospitalizations is 391 and total current hospitalizations is 10 after four individuals were hospitalized and five were discharged.
The Hays County Local Health Department does not release COVID-19 updates on weekends. Data in this report includes data gathered by the department Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
