The Hays County Local Health Department reports three new COVID-19-related fatalities Nov. 23, a Buda man in his 70s and two women from Kyle in their 70s. There have been a total of 99 fatalities in the county.
The county also reports 82 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 15 recoveries since Nov. 21, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 7,042, total active cases to 735 and recoveries to 6,208. The county reports the total active cases in the last 21 days is 934.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 90, 322 and 198 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 47,092 The total number of hospitalizations is 423 and total current hospitalizations is 12 after five people were hospitalized and five were discharged.
The Hays County Local Health Department does not release COVID-19 updates on weekends. Information in this report includes data gathered Nov. 21 and 22.
