The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities between Nov. 29-Dec. 6, a San Marcos woman in her 80s and a Driftwood man in his 60s. There have been a total of 408 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 196 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 222 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 30,558, total active cases to 271 and recoveries to 29,879. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 517.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 75, 95 and 53 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 290,110. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,373 and total current hospitalizations is 10 after four people were hospitalized and seven people was discharged.
The county reports eight unvaccinated people and two fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. Five unvaccinated and one fully vaccinated patient is in the ICU.
