The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19 fatality, a Buda woman in her 40s. There have been a total of 258 COVID-19-related fatalities in the county since the start of the pandemic. The county also reported 17 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 19 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 18,991, total active cases to 124 and recoveries to 18,609. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 184.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 35, 41 and 18 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 176,265. The total number of hospitalizations is 907 and total current hospitalizations is 5 after one person was hospitalized and three were discharged.
