The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality June 26-28, a Kyle man in his 70s. There have been a total of 261 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 32 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 21 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 19,091, total active cases to 144 and recoveries to 18,686. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 224.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 22, 64 and 24 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 179,195. The total number of hospitalizations is 916 and total current hospitalizations is two after two people were hospitalized and two were discharged.
