The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality June 4, a Buda man in his 30s. There have been a total of 253 fatalities in the county.

The county also reported 20 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 40 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 18,898, total active cases to 166 and recoveries to 18,479. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 299.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 41, 26 and 28 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 172,418. The total number of hospitalizations is 892 and total current hospitalizations is eight.
