The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Sept. 2, a Kyle man in his 50s and a Wimberley man in his 60s. There have been a total of 324 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 118 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 150 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 25,714, total active cases to 2,089 and recoveries to 23,301. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 3,225.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 705, 622 and 379 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 226,402. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,204 and total current hospitalizations is 57 after zero people were hospitalized and 12 were discharged.
The county reports 46 unvaccinated people and 11 fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 29 unvaccinated patients and two fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
