The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19 related fatality July 30, a Kyle man in his 80s. There have been a total of 269 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 186 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 72 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 20,496, total active cases to 1,028 and recoveries to 19,199. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,267.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 247, 338 and 253 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 192,017. The total number of hospitalizations is 975 and total current hospitalizations is 31 after two people were hospitalized and zero were discharged.
