The Hays County Local Health Department reports 73 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 20 recoveries July 19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 19,544, total active cases to 395 and recoveries to 18,885. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 479.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 118, 142 and 75 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 185,452. The total number of hospitalizations is 938 and total current hospitalizations is 15 after seven people were hospitalized and five were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 264.
