The Hays County Local Health Department reports 45 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 192 recoveries Feb. 12, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 15,837, total active cases to 1,397 and recoveries to 14,238. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,470.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 372, 489 and 253 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 117,404. The total number of hospitalizations is 705 and total current hospitalizations is 31 after six people were hospitalized and three were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 202.
