The Hays County Local Health Department reports six new COVID-19-related fatalities Feb. 13-22, a Buda women in her 60s, a Buda women in her 80s, a Kyle male in his 60s, a Kyle male in his 40s, a Kyle woman in her 70s and a San Marcos male in his 90s. There have been a total of 208 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 199 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 876 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 16,036, total active cases to 714 and recoveries to 15,114. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,480.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 199, 253 and 130 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 119,060. The total number of hospitalizations is 724 and total current hospitalizations is 28 after 19 people were hospitalized and 22 were discharged.
