The Hays County Local Health Department reports 44 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 74 recoveries May 19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 18,775, total active cases to 265 and recoveries to 18,265. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 539.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 87, 89 and 33 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 167,471. The total number of hospitalizations is 876 and total current hospitalizations is eight after zero people were hospitalized and two were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 245.
