The Hays County Local Health Department reports 28 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 28 recoveries May 25-26, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 18,856, total active cases to 263 and recoveries to 18,347. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 387.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 66, 76 and 31 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 170,016. The total number of hospitalizations is 878 and total current hospitalizations is 15 after four people were hospitalized and eight were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 246.
