Hays County reports 18 new COVID-19 cases, 187 new recoveries

The Hays County Local Health Department reports 18 new lab-confirmed cases and 187 recoveries on March 9.

This brings the total number of cases in the county to 16,592, total active cases to 559 and recoveries to 15,804. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 759.

There have been a total of 229 fatalities in the county.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 156, 149 and 137 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 130,956. The total number of hospitalizations is 760 and total current hospitalizations is 12 after two people were hospitalized and one was discharged.
