The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality March 19, a Kyle woman in her 80s. There have been a total of 235 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 21 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 22 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 16,877, total active cases to 421 and recoveries to 16,221. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 655.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 155, 110 and 77 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 138,374. The total number of hospitalizations is 772 and total current hospitalizations is six after two people were hospitalized and two were discharged.
