The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Dec. 1, a San Marcos woman in her 80s and a Wimberley woman in her 70s. There have been a total of 104 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 51 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 102 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 7,429, total active cases to 719 and recoveries to 6,606. The county reports the total active cases in the last 21 days is 1,040.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 68, 296 and 186 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 52,059. The total number of hospitalizations is 434 and total current hospitalizations is 12 after four people were discharged.
