The Hays County Local Health Department reports six new COVID-19-related fatalities Dec. 15, three women from Kyle; two in their 90s and one in her 60s as well as three men from San Marcos; one in his 40s, one in his 60s and one in his 90s. There have been a total of 113 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 27 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 275 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 8,340, total active cases to 1,025 and recoveries to 7,202. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,361.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 233, 352 and 229 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 60,630. The total number of hospitalizations is 465 and total current hospitalizations is 16 after two people were hospitalized and two were discharged.
