The Hays County Health Department reports 14 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 100 recoveries Sept. 30, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 5,940, active cases to 1,370 and recoveries to 4,515. The total active cases in the last 21 days is 414.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 371, 653 and 233 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 26,790. The total number of hospitalizations is 344 and total current hospitalizations is 8 after one patient was discharged. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
