The Hays County Health Department reports 14 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 120 recoveries Oct. 3-5, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 5,965, active cases to 1,171 and recoveries to 4,739. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 361.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 259, 602 and 207 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 27,494. The total number of hospitalizations is 346 and total current hospitalizations is nine after one patient was admitted and one was discharged. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
