The Hays County Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Oct. 17-19, a San Marcos woman in her 70s and a Kyle woman in her 40s.
The county also reports six new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 70 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,161, total active cases to 661 and recoveries to 5,437. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 290.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 53, 410 and 121 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 31,805. The total number of hospitalizations is 357 and total current hospitalizations is five after two individuals were hospitalized and three were discharged.
