The Hays County Health Department reports 30 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 63 recoveries Oct. 6, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 5,995, active cases to 1,138 and recoveries to 4,802. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 339.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 251, 585 and 198 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 28,914. The total number of hospitalizations is 346 and total current hospitalizations is nine. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
